What a small world! – Wayne Vanderwert ’89

OIGA president Wayne Vanderwert, donned his whites to represent Old Ivanhoe Cricket – OIGCC over the last two weekends. Wayne, pictured here with OIGCC coach Bryan ‘Barney’ Reid, not only enjoyed taking to the pitch, but was thrilled to discover that Barney was great friends with his parents. Although, the two had never met Wayne had heard so much about Barney over the years. Barney, has been with Old Ivanhoe for 12 months, is an astute cricket coach and played a major part in the OIGCC winning the flag last season. He also has a connection to IGS having been involved with Junior School coaching programs in the past. Wayne reports the Ivanhoe 2nd XI defeated Keon Park convincingly! Let’s all get behind the OIGCC this season.
