The Prefect team held a fantastic interview with alumnus and twice gold medalist at the Paralympics, Sam Bramham (’06) during a recent online assembly.
Sam competed at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Paralympic, taking home a total of two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal
During the interview Sam commented he had attended IGS from Prep to Year 12 and always felt a “sense of inclusion and belonging” with the School.
He also shared life lessons and reminded the students that “mistakes are inevitable, see them as learning opportunities”, he encouraged them to “always take a risk, if you’re not willing to take risks you have to settle with what you’ve got” and shared with them a motto he is continuing to follow:
“Success is a process not an event”.
Sam encouraged the Year 12s to “go out there and find something you can enjoy” and wished them well in their upcoming exams.
