Opportunity for Law Student/Law Graduate

A message from OILS

A member of OILS requires a law student/law graduate for at least 4 days per week assist in producing  member  disclosure material (particularly product disclosure statements) and related for the 2021 production. This is a large and highly prestigious organisation. It’s is a 3 month fixed term position with scope to extend.

The organisation and the Senior Lawyer is well known by OILS.

To fit the organisations requirements, it may be necessary to reduce your current work load, but we believe the experience gained would be worth it.

The specifications are:
·         Law student (ideally more than 50% progressed) or graduate
·         Minimum 4 days p/w
·         3 month fixed term commencing April but scope to extend
·         The role is to assist in producing member disclosure material in particular product disclosure statements and related material for the 2021 production.  It will involve organising and maintaining the department’s file and archive systems for storage or disclosure material and general paralegal duties such as liaising between the Legal Department and business, preparing letters, emails, routine correspondence.  It will also include arranging execution of documents and some research tasks. If capacity permits, there is opportunity to work with other teams within Legal (eg Disputes, Commercial, Group Sec)
·         Technical knowledge
o   Basic understanding of company law, trust law and contract law
o   Advanced legal research skills
o   Advanced Microsoft Office software skills
o   Website design / coding skills
·         We are looking for someone with drive and self motivation, excellent technical, administrative and consulting skills, ability to quickly forge effective working relations, and an organiser and planner.
