Michael is Principal of a Melbourne Law firm and has assisted a broad range of community organizations, including as President of the United Nations Association, Greening Australia and Reconciliation Victoria. He was Victoria’s first permanent male equal opportunity commissioner and has had a variety of other Government roles. Michael was awarded Honorary Fellowships with the College of Surgeons and College of Anaesthetists and has received other awards and recognition. He was made a member of the Order of Australia in 2004 for his community contribution. He received the school’s Oswald T Kyle Award for outstanding Community Service in 1999 and is a former member of the board of Governors. Michael is currently Chair of the Alfred Hospital.
