Lucas Gillard ’97 – George Best Down Under

“George Best Down Under” is Lucas’ second football book, focusing exclusively on Best’s visits to Australia. His first book “Be My Guest” features Best, however due to Lucas collecting so much material on Best’s visits – and being such an iconic character – he believed a follow-up focusing on Best was almost inevitable.

While there are hundreds of books out there about Best, this is the first that goes into depth about his experiences and relationship with Australia. It’s a great read for football fans who know and admire Best, but also those who enjoy reading about Australian football’s (sometimes forgotten) history.

We congratulate Lucas on his second book, it’s definitely worth a read!
