Kat graduated from Plenty in 1999 and, as an Army Officer, travelled Australia and the world, deploying to the Middle East thrice. Her most memorable role was as a logistics and gender advisor to Afghan national security forces where she was awarded the United States Bronze Star Medal for her tireless work. Kat retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after her fulfilling 20-year military career to pursue another passion: fine arts.
Her artwork has been acquired by institutions such as the AWM and Victorian Shrine of Remembrance and she is a recent recipient of the prestigious Napier Waller Art Prize.
