Huge congratulations to Kaylen Bassett ’15 on winning his first-ever World Championships medal — and doing it on home soil!
Kaylen powered his way into the C1 finals alongside fellow alumni Tristan Carter ’17 and Ben Ross ’21, ultimately claiming the bronze medal. This marks the first senior men’s World Championships medal for Australia since Robin Bell back in 2007!
Earlier in the week, the boys also put down a flawless run in the team event, even holding the top spot for a moment before France narrowly overtook them.
It was an unforgettable moment for Kaylen, made even more special with his family and members of the IGS community cheering him, Tristan and Ben on from the stands.
Well done to them all!
